When Dr. T took over the airwaves and we taunted the internet.
Supercell make some of the most popular mobile games in the world, with well over 100 million players daily worldwide. Since 2015, we’ve worked across all of their titles - Boom Beach, Hay Day, Clash of Clans and Clash Royale. Each is different and comes with its own distinctive tone of voice and creative approach. We do a ton of work for them, and we love it.
Working closely with Barton F. Graf 9000 and Freedman International, we helped deliver a host of content to support the Boom Beach Winter Campaign, which centred around the game’s brilliantly irreverent villain, Dr T.
The theme of the campaign was focused on this evil genius and his new secret super weapon – a cunning method for taking over Boom Beach. He spent two months taunting viewers with TV spots, OOH and rich media, teasing people but never revealing his secret plans, while a dark (possibly super-weapon shaped) shadow loomed ominously over Boom Beach…
We created a veritable arsenal of display and rich interactive for mobile and tablet, as well as crafting social assets and animated gifs. It was a blast.
Clever ideas for clever phones
Interactive iAds allowed us to get users moving their hands, their eyes and their phones, pushing the format and creating a totally unique experience for smart phones.
Using rotate and shake actions, we enticed users to try to uncover Dr.T’s secret plans. Of course, you couldn’t. Dr T, being the villainous mastermind that he is, just kept dangling that carrot, with no pay-off. What a tease.
From conceptual sketch to final render
Touching on every specialism in our studio, the work was big, bold, funny and (if we do say so ourselves) pretty darn beautiful.
We delivered high volume static performance banners; Facebook social creative; animated GIFs; Video end slates; HTML5 banners; interactive iAds and bespoke copy. It all amounted to a lot of work - hundreds of rich creative executions, all turned around in super-duper high-speed, and to the highest quality.
